"Hydrôlatique"

joins the Montreux Museum
HydrôlatiqueIn October 2019, a kinetic sculpture on the theme of water was installed at the Montreux Historical Museum.
Various objects (a copper still, Pelton wheel, fire hydrant, valves, and meters) sourced from the museum's storage are brought to life to trace the history of water in the region.

Height:   2.6 metres
Weight:       300 Kg

"The Lighthouse of Hope"

An emotionally charged sculpture
phare.jpgThis project had been on my mind for 15 years, ever since Pierre Massard, upon learning that he "would never walk again," expressed his desire to end his life, seeing no point in being "confined" to a wheelchair. After the initial shock, his determination took over, and like many others who suffered accidents, he rebuilt his life.
The encounters I had with these remarkable individuals, who entrusted me with personal items to animate, marked an important chapter in my life. These people inspired me with their enthusiasm, determination, and smiles.
This is the message "The Lighthouse of Hope" seeks to convey to current patients at the CRR (Clinique Romande de Réadaptation) in Sion, as they come to terms with their new status:
"The objects spinning here were given to me by individuals with disabilities who have been where you are now. They have all managed to overcome their circumstances and give new meaning to their lives."

Height:   4.4 metres
Weight:       740 Kg
Working hours: 1480 h

"N'ART6"

Nart6ok.jpg
To celebrate the revival of the NARCISSUS FESTIVAL in 2015, an old wooden thresher from 1943 was brought back to life for a few hours, adorned with 6,000 flowers!

At the rear, "Vesuvius-style" rockets occasionally ignited, accompanied by bursts of soap bubbles.

It was pulled by a 1945 Farmall tractor.

"The Chablais Scope"

A kinetic sculpture 35 metres long! The Chablais Scope is not just something to look at... You step inside! Once inside, you wander through a mechanical-fantasy world. The design evokes drawings by Mordillo: gear wheels spin a model castle, a crystal from the Bex salt mines, and countless other surprising objects; pulleys drive an improbable "cable train" (the artist’s invention!) or a miniature industrial butchery; and endless screws make PostBus coaches dizzy.

"Allô Claude"

Kinetic sculpture created from an old telephone booth, paying tribute to Claude Nobs.
At the Montreux Sculpture Biennale in 2013, it won the PUBLIC PRIZE.

"The Apsyrateur"

For a crazy play "The End of the Potatoes," a diabolical machine was needed to allow aliens to suck out human souls and inject them into their kind.

The Apsyrator on Stage
A colourful troupe (Les tréteaux de Scapin) welcomed "The Apsyrator" as the 11th actor, under the effective direction of stage manager Patrick Francey.

"Santa's Toy Factory"

in Montreux in 2004

La Poupéemania

An old onion sorter: its conveyor belt carries dolls to be dressed and wooden cars that receive small figures.

Length: 5 metres

La Colorieuse

An old slurry pump (!) transformed into a machine for making toy colours. A washing machine bubbles while soap bubbles float above the audience.

Height: 3.5 metres

L'Hélico-loco

A locomotive crossed with a helicopter became the generator powering all the machines in Santa's Workshop.

Length: 15 metres

La Raboscieuse

Originally a machine for bundling straw, a wave of the magic wand transformed it to saw and plane wood, creating cars, trains, and boats.

Length: 6 metres

L'Usinamétal

On two conveyor belts, metal is shaped to make metal toys.

Length: 7 metres

L'Aéronavimobile

An old wheat thresher wraps the finished toys, which are then transported by cable car. This machine can fly, sail, and drive, hence its name.

Length: 6 metres
